LastGraph3: Not Dead
It really isn't, honest. I'm working on the final part - the graph scheduler, which replicates the previous queued graph functionality - and I'll hopefully be pushing it all live soon.
I was tempted to just push the live artist browsing part live, which all works currently, but it's only interesting for, oh, the first few hours...

by chance I found an svn repository containing some lastgraph code and checked it out, but it seemed quite outdated to me (and I didn't get it to run properly) -- do you intent to release lastgraph? (it *would* reduce your server load, if people ran it on their own machines and cached their data when creating lasgraphs weekly :)

I always Wondered if it'd be possible to Graph a group to see what it would be like. I tried it once but i guess that didn't work for example i wanted to graph http://www.last.fm/group/boomboomsatellites but it didn't turn out.
Would doing Graphing a Group just cause the whole thing to crash or take up too much time?
Yes, that svn repository is almost certainly broken! I do intend to release LG properly when it's finished, but, you know, it has to be finished. I don't intend for people to run it on their machines, however, as it's a web service, and needs quite a bit of setting up and supporting software (the point is to make getting a graph easy, i.e. just a few clicks on a website).
And yes, I could theoretically get group graphing working, the API is the same as it is for users. I'll include it in my plans (the only real thing I'd like to do but can't is anything related to tags - I really can't fetch them efficiently enough)
