About Me

I'm Andrew Godwin, a programmer (of Python, Django, Javascript, and other things I feel like dabbling in), a graduate of  Magdalen College, Oxford, and Senior Developer at Torchbox.

I live in the UK, and so in addition to being in the One True Time Zone I also enjoy liberal amounts of cheese, clotted cream (especially in cream teas), chocolate, cheesecake, and most other dairy products that begin with C.

In those rare moments I'm not at a computer, learning, or working, I enjoy satire, comedy, science fiction, and good drama, be it in television or movie format. I'm also a reasonably avid reader - my favourite author is the fantastically and weirdly inventive Greg Egan. You can even sometimes find me doing some sport, although I usually just enjoy cycling, walking and taking the train everywhere and generally feeling much better for it.

My main love is programming - not for the money, but for the pure creative ability it brings, and the ability to create such wonderful and complex things with not much time and no money. Some of the things I've created are useful, and some languish in uselessness, but all were fun to work on.
