I'm Andrew Godwin, a programmer (of Python, Django, and plenty of other languages depending on the situation), a British expat who now lives in mostly-sunny San Francisco, a reasonably well-travelled technical public speaker, and an alumnus of Magdalen College, Oxford.
My main love is programming - not for the money (though I can't deny that's useful), but because it's all the fun of engineering with way less of the cost and slowness (though I love all engineering, particularly civil). Some of the things I've created are useful, and some languish in uselessness, but all were fun to work on.
I spend most of my work day programming, though I do the odd bit of networking here and there and occasionally turn up somewhere and talk at people for while - sometimes, they even want me to.
I also enjoy the occasional bit of cycling, plenty of archery, flying small planes, mountains and overzealous consumption of cheese.
